Review of Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972) by Christopher S — 03 Mar 2009
The title is the best thing about this cheaply-made horror film, an early effort from director Bob Clark. Despite some clever dialogue and amusing performances, the bargain basement production values, amateurish lighting, and annoying music make it hard to follow much of the time.
For a time in the middle it seems like it might develop into a pretty clever dark comedy, but then it quickly degenerates into zombie movie cliches. Falls short of the cult classic it's been made out to be.
