Review of Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972) by Todd C — 14 Nov 2009
"Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" reminds me of a cheaper "Evil Dead" crossed with Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video -- only the zombies look creepier than they did in "Thriller" (and they don't dance either).
This little horror film from 1972 certainly holds its own. One can see the influence it may have had on Sam Raimi and/or other horror directors who wanted to take a stab at directing their own low-budget, homemade pictures.
Even though the movie's story takes a little too much time in picking up the pace, the second half finally sets the action in motion by successfully delivering the zombie goods.
