Review of Children of the Damned (1964) by Whitney B — 13 Apr 2008
I'm not sure I even understood what the moral message of this film is supposed to be. I read a comment on one website which said the children were supposed to be "a sample of mankind's future sent to the earth for the purpose of being destroyed in order to teach the present-day warlike man a lesson of some sort.
" I can't say I got that from the movie at all. Nor does the lesson seem to have been learned. Not that it made any sense, anyway. The children's willingness to submit to destruction at the end of the film seems pointless.
Anyway, since they already brought one of their number back to life after he was shot, it begs the question of whether they can actually be destroyed anyway.
