Review of Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995) by Evan B — 28 Jun 2011
Decent third part to a great film. I think some people are setting their standards just a wee bit too high, because this is a movie you really shouldn't take seriously. Just turn off your brain and enjoy.
I felt the acting in it was okay, and I thought the writing was very creative. The leader of the children still wasn't as creepy as Isaac, but he did a decent job anyway. However, in this one, the children barely kill anyone themselves; it's mainly "He Who Walks Behind the Rows".
The special effects by Screaming Mad George are phenomenal and are a leap above the FX in the second. I like the idea of moving the story to Chicago and not just staying in rural America. Yeah, I really liked it, but in order to enjoy the Children of the Corn series, you've got to set your standards pretty low.
Turn your brain off and enjoy.
