Review of Children of the Corn (1984) by Kim B — 29 Oct 2011
You never really found out exactly what the monster was or why and I was expecting it to be an alien. Instead it was this stupid cloud/living underground monster thing, but it other than that it was ok.
Maliki did a bad job overacting and the adults in the beginning were silly, but the rest of the cast was pretty good. There were a lot of jumps, but most of the time you saw them coming. It was what you would expect from a King novel.
The good part was that it was believable in the fact that King makes the heroines smart and you feel as though you would act similar in their situation. There weren't any possible escape options they really could've used other than what they did.
However, if you're looking for a better creepy movie about rural America I would suggest seeing Deliverance instead or Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
