Review of Children of Men (2006) by Sean M — 20 Jun 2012
From the moment that a grim, brooding shot on a city street turns into a frenetic bombing scene, only to suddenly move to the title, even while screams linger in your ears... you know you're in the hands of a powerful filmmaker.
This is an intense meditation on human life and its dignity. And it doesn't just deal in abstracts. The characters are fantastic. Michael Caine's pot-dealer is my personal favorite.
