Review of Children of Men (2006) by Garrett E — 08 May 2013
First time I watched this film, I gave it a 3/5 and wasn't really surprised by it. I wasn't impressed by anything the film had to offer.
What The Hell Was I Thinking?
Alfonso Cuaron's telling of P.D James's classic story is a triumph one. A fantastic look at a Dystopian Apocalypse laid ahead by a freak accident.
What completely made me love this film was the beautiful directing style done by Cuaron that moved the story in such a pristine way. The constant one-long shots were magnificent and helped enrich the viewer.
Clive Owen is a heavily underrated actor, in my opinon, and deserves more recognition. His performance was phenomenal and breath-taking. Michael Caine also did a wonderful job in a supporting role. Mainly the only two performances that stood out.
Overall, This film is beautiful in every aspect and is criminally underrated.
