Review of Children of Men (2006) by Brandon S — 08 Aug 2012
A vivid and tangible dramatic sci-fi tale. This movie really delivers with it's shabby and rundown post-modern vision of a non-stereo typical futuristic soceity in every sense, especially architecture.
The violence compliments the realism in the sense that it's not excessively graphic like past films that have attempted this style. The director's amazing vision for this brilliant work of art shines through with every single scene.
Clive Owen's performance is nothing short of fantastic, complimented beautifully by Michael Caine's acting mastery and utter brilliance. This is one of those rare sci-fi films that can actually be called a masterpiece, even though it's really not a sci-fi film at all.
