Review of Children of Men (2006) by Terry I — 12 Sep 2014
When I saw this film in a theater I thought, "WOW! Cinema will never be the same". I found it a quantum leap forward in technique, with long, astonishing tracking shots. And underlying it was a powerful story touching on spirituality & the human condition.
Clive Owen has never been better, delivering a nuanced, poignant, gritty performance. Julianne Moore didn't even appear to be acting, so seamless was her integration of character. And Michael Caine was utterly charming.
Profound, meaningful, unusual. Apparently not a box office success, I suspect this film will achieve full recognition in the future.
