Review of Children of a Lesser God (1986) by Karl S — 07 Aug 2007
I liked it when it first came out. Actually, having gone to see it five times whenit was out that is probably a bit of an understament. Having seen it on DVD it is still pretty good and both leads are excellent.
William Hurt always manages to to portray emotional scenes well but Marlee Matlin manages to steal the film. Predicatable? To a degree yes but the subject matter is unusual and the unpicking of the history of Marlee Matlin's character is very deftly handled.
