The Ruins may look cheap in the trailer, however when watching this movie you can't help but falling for it as it grows and you watch in horror. It was different and that's why people hated it.
People [now a days] hate anything that forces you to think, they want simple easy, gory horror films with no plot. They can't stand anything a bit out of the ordinary. If your going to see this movie, watch the unrated version for full satisfaction.
