Review of Child 44 (2015) by Patricia C — 23 Aug 2015
I was shocked to see the low ratings. This is one of the most compelling films I've seen. It does require an above room temperature IQ as the plot unfolds slowly. While it may not be perfectly accurate with regard to history, it does provide the feel of Russia at the time, and character development is excellent, and in fact drives the film.
One review I read said that viewers should watch "Citizen 10" before seeing this one. I plan to do that, and then watch "Child 44" again to pick up nuances I missed the first time.
