My pick for best animated Oscar, although it did not win. Use of 3D rendering is immediately apparent, but invisible in screenshots because the artistic style is consistent, and it really adds to the visual world.
The story of star-crossed lovers is effective, but it is the jazz and scenery that really sell this cultural tale of finding love within the tossing winds of fate that push the two in different directions.
