Review of Chicken Run (2000) by William C — 04 Apr 2010
While Aardman are mostly known for a Hapless Inventor and his Trusty Dog, who may or may not be appearing in this list later on, they decided to delay their production of a feature length Wallace and Gromit movie and experiment with Chickens.
Chicken Run is an animated version of The Great Escape...but with Chickens. The tale of these Chickens trying to fly over their fence with the help of a Rooster is packed with laughs, great animation, a great cast of characters and most of all, heart.
Get used to the word heart in the last past of this countdown, because it's what sets apart the good from the great. I'm also sure the grown ups with appreciate the dark undertones. The only complaints with Chicken Run? To be honest, I can't really think of any.
The action is great. The humour is constant and it's just a great movie that shouldn't be missed.
