Review of Chicago (1927) by Sean C — 28 Dec 2011
I can see why it won Best Picture but I don't think it should have won. The acting was solid across the board and I thouroughly enjoyed the score and routines but there is one scene that ruins it for me.
The scene were Flynn talks about razzling is all you need to get the show noticed and that is what this movie was, about getting you to notice more for what is in the film not what the film is. The film had great qualities but was more so about eye candy than anything.
Solid script and editing as well. I just think that the producers over did the dazzle.
