Review of Chicago (1927) by Anna B — 10 Mar 2013
Nothing can compare to live theater but this movie should be seen to be understood. The pure mix and feelings set by the use of camera angles and lighting really add to the complex nature of this film.
Pay attention to how the camera is used to give perspective to viewer so that they feel as if they are part of the scene (as if you're in the audience or part of the movie). I'm not one who's normally really big on commentary but this is one of those films that you can say it deserves all the awards it received.
