Review of Chernobyl Diaries (2012) by Lisa D — 20 Nov 2012
This film would have had a better shot if they'd stuck to ONE plotline (which is it, wild animals, mutants, the government..?) it was a bizarre mix, as if three different people wrote it & then tried to fit them all into one movie.
(Why did they use mutants, near a nuclear disaster site.. how obvious can you GET? not to mention the 'mutants', identically boring save 2 or 3 it seems they could budget in but didn't show long, look like something from a 1950's sci-fi movie.
) It would've been better if they'd just gotten LOST- Prpyat is scary enough itself as it is, abandoned & radioactive; being lost at night would be TERRIFYING, especially winding up where they do.
