Directed by Oren Peli who brought us the first, and best, Paranormal Activity movie, Chernobyl Diaries tells the story of six young American vacationers taking a whistle stop tour of Europe, they visit the usual tourist 'traps' but whilst in Kiev they are offered an 'underground tour experience'...a visit to the abandoned city of Chernobyl....
The movie starts of quite promising, the leads aren't the usual precocious Yank brats that this type of movie throws up, the build up is slow and not over-dramatic, but once the 'action' kicks in it all falls apart.
It all starts to resemble an episode of the hideous "Lost" series, lots of running, shouting, hollering, snivelling, pointing of torches etc..No sense of dread or suspense, instantly forgettable.
