Review of Chernobyl Diaries (2012) by Derek H — 25 Jan 2013

The truly sad thing about Chernobyl Diaries isn't that it wastes your time (although it does). The saddest thing about this movie is that the premise is actually pretty interesting, and some of the visuals are actually pretty creepy. At the end of the day though, Chernobyl Diaries never gets out of neutral.

Believe me, there's nothing I like more than a horror movie that features a slow, creepy build. Chernobyl Diaries tries to accomplish that, but unfortunately they botch the build so bad that by the time anything remotely interesting happens, you simply don't care.
