Oddly found in the Comedy section of the store, "Cheap Thrills" is the most interesting film I've seen this year, thus far. I wasn't sure what to expect given how this is a blend of so many different genres.

Overall, this twisted little low-budget film belongs in the Thriller/Light Horror section, as opposed to the ladder Comedy genre that many stores are placing it. This is NOT at all intended to turn people away from watching "Cheap Thrills" as it is an extremely well-done story of how money can turn anyone into a monster.

What is seemingly becoming a sub-genre next to recent under-the-radar releases, "13 Sins" and "Would You Rather", this film breaks down the animalistic nature of humans in a sort-of sadistic character study.

Although the MPAA didn't give it an official rating, it undoubtedly deserves an "R" rating for sequences of strong sadistic violence, aberrant behavior, graphic grisly/disturbing images, sexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, pervasive language, and some nudity (Yes, this movie has it all in one and isn't for prudes!).

All-in-all this was really interesting given David Koechner (from "Anchorman") and Sara Paxton ("The Last House on the Left") starred as the sadistic couple that lead an extremely twisted life or death game.

It does have its share of dark humor that will induce some laughs but overall this is for those that have a pretty strong stomach given its odd premise and nasty sense of humor.
