Review of Cheap Thrills (2013) by Shawn R — 06 Oct 2014
Director E.L.Katz intended to give the tone and feel of 'Funny Games' to his film, but the comparisons end there as it is fundamentally different from Haneke's psychological masterpiece. All comparisons aside, it does manage to create some tension with a very straight forward (and expected) display of violence, has its moments of dark humour, with the simple "how far would you go for money" dilemma setting the entire moral compass of the film.
