How far would those in a desperate situation go for money? Can be viewed as a twisted comedy or can be viewed more seriously. Manipulation by the rich on the poor (economic class differences), irrational behavior, sadistic behavior, peer pressure, and trust are on display here.
Some of the film can seem unrealistic but it is done for humor purposes and to lighten the mood and blood is added for the screen, and touching a wider audience. The film could be hard to digest and could potentially leave some thinking "that could be me" so the more outrageous things seem added to make it easier.
