Review of Che: Part One (2008) by Matt B — 13 Feb 2010
Che Part One is historically accurate but for the most part the film is a little bland. The last half an hour was the highlight of the film when you really see Guevara as the great military general he was.
Unfortunately, everything leading up to that is very slow and mostly just pissed off men wandering around the forest! I found the film interesting at times but to be honest, I could have learnt as much from reading his biography on Wikipedia.
Del Toro is excellent and there is nothing terrible about the film but it takes a lot of concentration and patience.
