When I was growing up, I was always told that Chasing Amy was one of Kevin Smith's weakest movies and consequently I never bothered to watch it. It's too bad, because this is a poignant and surprisingly smart movie that examines the nature of love and relationships.
With funny and meaningful writing typical of these movies, Chasing Amy entertains as much as any others by Smith, and is most effective at making you feel something long after the end.
