Delicately balances so many things that could've ruined this film if left unchecked. The melodrama, the lowbrow humor, the sexual deviance, pothead jokes, comic book subculture, the friendships, and the romantic relationship.

Any of these in high doses could've turned the film into trash, yet the careful inclusion of them makes the film feel so honest and real for the duration of this thought provoking exploration of relationships.
