Review of Chasing Amy (1997) by Mohandas S — 26 Mar 2011
A very very weird romantic comedy. The movie has all it takes to call it different....[Than the usual romantic flicks i.e.]..... Ben Affleck portrays a common man who gets attracted to Joey Lauren Adams, who turns out to be not of his kind rather the general kind i.
E. straight.... Now he cannot stop falling for her knowing how difficult its going to be and finally ends up proposing to her in the most charming way ever. The girl agrees to straighten herself somehow but again the usual melodrama hovers over the storyline making it look ordinary.
Some where towards the end you would feel the punch when Holden [Affleck] makes a very innocently indecent proposal to his buddy Banky and Alyssa, to settle things which screws up the entire thing....
. All in all a good movie.
