Review of Chasing Amy (1997) by Joe A — 21 Nov 2009
Not a big fan of Kevin Smith but he hit a grand slam home run with this classic. One of my favorite romantic comedies and one of my favorite films, Smith hit all the right buttons in his story of a comic book artist and the lesbian he falls in love with.
From the dialog to the performances, everything is just right in a film that is hysterically funny, wonderfully touching and ultimately very real in that not every story has a fairy tale ending and we as humans are sometimes capable of screwing up a good thing.
Smith's masterpiece.
