Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Sovan M — 22 May 2009
Sublime and effortless satire that moves fast and kept a huge smile. Tom Hanks is subtly back to his funny ways of old, and Phil Hoffman oozes class even though his character is such a cock. I doubt the truth to the whole of this tale, but who cares when wit is so brilliantly thrown onto the screen.
If you like this kind of thing, then you'll love it and it's all summed up with the ending quote from Charlie himself - "These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world.
.. and then we fucked up the end game.".
