Review of Charlie Wilson's War (2007) by Laura B — 14 Jan 2010
This is an amazing event in history. Seeing a story about America HELPING the people of Afghanistan is amazing and gives things SO much perspective. The most poignant moment is at the end when Charlie (Tom Hanks) is fighting for ongoing support for the young population of Afghanistan, pointing out that the children don't know that the US helped, they will want revenge for the destruction of their lives.
If they had only listened to him in 1989 things may have been very different. It exhilerated me and made me incredibkly sad all at once.
