Review of Charles Bradley: Soul of America (2012) by Shae S — 24 Jul 2014
Perhaps I am just getting burnt out on these "musicians-who-didn't-get-their-due" docs, but this one offered very little new to the tired genre. Sure, it's heartbreaking and full of humanity, but so are some much better movies in the same vein (Who is Harry Nilsson, A Band Called Death, The Devil and Daniel Johnston).
Not a complete failure, but certainly nothing worth writing home about.
