I appreciate the message of Chariots of Fire, but the film itself is dreadfully dull. It presents a series of half-baked characters and jumps from scene to scene without any real drama or emotion. The only thing truly memorable about this film is the opening theme song.
I expected a lot more from the Best Picture winner of 1981. How did this movie beat Raiders of the Lost Ark?
