Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Anthony W — 16 Mar 2009
The tension in this film is created largely because of the historic events it portrays; we already know the outcome. Plodding and sometimes excruciatingly slow, we get a possible glimpse into the mind of Mark David Chapman.
Are the thoughts and actions portrayed when Chapman is alone really what happened? We'll never know for sure. The only impression we get is one of a complete psychotic lunatic, which may be all we need.
Leto's performance is powerful and disturbing and Lindsay Lohan's supporting role is surprisingly good as well.
