Review of Chapter 27 (2007) by Muhamad Taufik R — 17 Jun 2009
This said, Jared Leto is great. His transformation is amazing, amazing, amazing and he plays the character as a completely mixed up person where, even though you know where its heading, you can?t help but try to understand what?s going on in this guy?s head. Well, even as you get through the movie, you can?t. I think it was purposely made that way. The bad is that the VO gets very annoying, not in how Leto sounds, but in it?s intention to vocalize the delusion. It doesn?t work, and it makes this short movie almost unbearable. It probably would have been a better piece to follow him for a longer lead up.
Still, Leto is great. He is a great actor and I wish he would act more than make music. His acting is certainly better than his music. And I looked back and I?ve only seen Lindsey Lohan in 3 movies, this, Prairie Home Companion and Bobby. All are ensemble, but she isn?t as annoying in movie roles as she is just seeing her everywhere, not even just in tabloids. And I haven?t seen 30 rock, but in the movies Judah Freidlander plays someone other than himself, he?s also good. But that can?t save this movie.
