Review of Chappie (2015) by Psyberdelic — 14 Mar 2015
Let's face it. The critics are often wrong. I read reviews before I saw this film and it was like they were talking about a different movie. Frankly, they just didn't get it. There's some shoot 'em up stuff, of course but at it's heart Chappie is a story about family.
Dysfunctional but caring. There's comedy and pathos and a really interesting twist on the "what is consciousness, what is human" theme. It's a freaking character study of Chappie and his found family.
