Review of Chappie (2015) by Bill N — 02 Aug 2015
Chappie is something you don't get too often in Hollywood these days. UNIQUE. Period. Patel, Jackman and Weaver were all great in their roles and the gangsters they cast were fantastic as well. I like that I couldn't understand all of their slang and they looked rough. The story does drag on a little in the beginning, but it more than makes up for it later on when things get rolling. All in all, it was a good watch and is the type of movie that stays with you for a few days afterward, specifically the idea of A.I. and transferring human consciousness to a machine. Ray Kurzweil would be proud.
Overall, it was gritty, interesting, with just enough action and even a little heart warming. If you want to see more than mindless robots destroying a major metropolitan area, you should go see this movie.
