Review of Chappie (2015) by Bigpapa2015 — 18 Jun 2015
I'm not sure why the critics didn't like this movie as much. I came in expecting one story and walked away with another. Chappie (who was brought to life with stop motion technology) was incredible to watch.
Coupled with the voice acting, Chappie can be truly moving at time. You have a robot who doesn't know who he is or what his place in the world is. He's a child in a harsh environment and doesn't understand why things are the way they are.
He want's to be good but the world around him is against him and others push him to be bad. The action and violence added a whole other dimension to the story. The exploration of consciousness, humanity and how we treat those who are different really had us thinking when the movie was over.
The movie is worth watching. In fact my family and I are watching it again right now.
