Review of Chaplin (2011) by Sang S — 21 Nov 2008
Although Robert Downey, Jr probably never given less than stellar performance, Chaplin was probably by far the most outstanding and challenging role he has tackle this far, completely embodies Mr. Chaplin mannerisms, body language and swagger as "The Tramp" (with great english accent to boot) I am completely in awe on how perfectly executed and pitch perfect his performance was.
The movie itself while engaging (there's this life-imitates-art sequence where Chaplin an company tries to escape the authorities set up in the same manner as on "The Tramp" usual shenanigans which was pretty neat) is also dragging at times and felt not quite well paced.
Overall it was a worthy & informative biopic of one of the greatest silver-screen legends.
