Review of Chaplin (1992) by Andi D — 06 Sep 2008
After seeing this movie, I realized how very close the Best Actor race was between Robert Downey, Jr. (in the title role) and Al Pacino for "Scent of a Woman" in 1992.
RDJ is absolutely spot-on in his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin, and while the film was great, it seems a shame to me that Attenborough showed a penchant for Chaplin's sex-life, rather than the magic he worked on-screen. Still, an excellent movie that shows exactly what RDJ is capable of.
