Excellent movie that works as a drama and also as a period piece. As The New Yorker says, it "congratulates you for feeling what you already felt." But that's not a bad thing. This movie will not change your life, but it will leave you impressed in every way.
Jolie was perfectly cast and played the role ideally. The only real flaw, in my opinion, is that one of the child actors was allowed/asked to grossly overact.
