Review of Cesar Chavez (2014) by Susanne H — 29 Mar 2014
Like hollywood is prone to do, this film takes a multi-faceted and dynamic person, a leader, a revolutionary, and presents him in a one-dimensional and very bland way. Despite the mediocre film, it's a good thing that this film exists because it may spark interest in people who may take it further by reading about him and maybe even watching old footage of him to get a true sense of how powerful he was.
It is as essential to the story of democracy in America to know who he was, as it is to know who Martin Luther King Jr. was. Next I would like to see a film about Leonard Peltier (done right).
