Review of Certified Copy (2010) by V H — 03 Apr 2011
The film starts with a book which the theme is that artistic copy has its' intrinsic value. Even the "original" art is a copy of something--a person or a landscape. So, a "copy" is really a copy of a copy. What matters is not whether the piece in front of you is "original," but rather the way in which you perceive the artwork at which you're looking.
I really love the way that the director to tell story and use of camera. It actually reminds me of my all-time favorite, Before Sunset. Their conversation was intensely interesting. It has room for interpretation. It made you feel like following them through museums and streets. Just like Before Sunset, the ending was open ended, leaving the viewer to guess whether he stays or leaves.
