Review of Certified Copy (2010) by Chloe C — 18 Aug 2011
The latest masterwork drama from Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami is like a Before Sunrise for non-Gen X-ers. Set in Tuscany, an English art historian (William Shimell) spends a long day with a Frenchwoman (the enchanting Juliette Binoche) who arrived to hear his lecture.
When they meet, the two begin pretending they know one another, but then the pretending turns real. The ending is haunting. Great fucking film.
