Review of Certain Women (2016) by Maria S — 19 Nov 2016
Living as a woman is hard. Sometimes you have to do twice the work of a man, you have to face prejudices, you have to struggle to survive on your own, or you have to prove yourself to everyone aroind just because of your gender.
Certain Women is the story of four women loosely connected in Montana. Laura Dern plays a lawyer sleeping with an unhappily married man and advocating for a man who suffered a workplace head injury. Michelle Williams plays the unhappily married wife ans mother who is attempting to rebuild her life.
Kristen Stewart plays a recent law school graduate trying to find steady employment who signs up to teach a class on school law. There she meets a young lonely Indigineous woman who cares for the animals at a nearby ranch and comes to the class just to see Kristen Stewart.
All face trials in their life and must overcome the patriarchy ruling this country.
