Review of Ceremony (2010) by Shay B — 11 Sep 2011
I'm not really sure what to say about this one...it started off abysmally and got progressively more mediocre? However, the soundtrack was fantastic. It's also completely ridiculous, and full of characters written so very over the top as to try and stand out as memorable.
Some succeed and some fail badly. Lee Pace, Jake Johnson and Reece Thompson are good in support roles, pretty much the only decent part. Uma Thurman looks constipated the whole movie, and Michael Angarano looks like a 12 year old who grew a moustache.
The movie does try to say something, but it's already been said before much better. Not essential in any way...you may only be interested that it was directed by the Fonz's son, and that may tell you why it got green-lighted.
