Review of Centurion (2010) by Neil P — 13 Mar 2011
If only as much time had gone into the plot as had the lovingly shot sweeping landscapes and gory action scenes. Some solid actors are given very little to work with throughout which is a shame. The film drags on as each member of the nonth legion dies and the ending makes the whole thing feel fairly pointless and I'm not sure what the point was supposed to be.
As I said the action scenes are quite good with some incredibly visceral gore and if you like your films to be 30% people running or riding horses along lovely landscapes, then you'll get something from the film.
For me I was left whistling the LOTR tune and wishing I was watching that instead.
