Review of Cemetery Junction (2010) by Grant S — 08 Jun 2011
Good, ish comedy-drama. Has some very funny lines and scenes and moments of great emotion, but often just drifts.
The name-actors are Ralph Fiennes, Emily Watson and Ricky Gervais, but their characters are secondary (or even tertiary, in Gervais' case). The lead actors - Christian Cooke, Tom Hughes, Jack Doolan and the gorgeous Felicity Jones - are all unknowns, and do a good job.
One amazing thing, and a pleasant surprise - the appearance of a Led Zeppelin song (The Rain Song) in the final scene! Led Zep don't allow their songs to be used by anyone.
Overall, idea was great, but implementation was flawed.
