Review of Cellular (2004) by Daniel P — 03 Aug 2012
Solid enough action/thriller. You can tell it came out nearly a decade ago, since it's called "Cellular" and not "Smartphone". Also kind of amazing to see that at the time the features of the Cell were new and amazing.
Written in collaboration with the same guy who wrote 'Phone Booth' with Colin Farrell in 2003, it has the same sort of breakneck pace, and an early look at Chris Evans before Captain America (even before Johnny Storm!) and a rare Jason Statham as a bad guy role (he's very menacing just as when he's the good guy) and William H.
Macy on form as ever. Decent enough entertainment, and at just over 90 minutes, doesn't drag or overstay it's welcome. Worth a watch if you like that kind of movie or any of the actors involved.
