Review of Cellular (2004) by David G — 03 Feb 2011
Simple, fast-paced thriller. Relies heavily on plot convenience - "Dammit my phone's almost out of power... Oh look, there's a cell phone shop!" - but if you've got your suspension of disbelief primed and ready then you're good to go.
Cast-wise you've got a pretty solid lot. Chris Evans is the plucky young hero who's in way over his head, Jason Statham is the mysteriously-accented villain (British? American?), William H. Macy is the weird heroic cop/comic relief hybrid and Kim Basinger is the milf who screams "He's just a baaaaaybeeeee!!!" about 700 times.
Yeah, she gets kind of annoying!
