Review of Céline and Julie Go Boating (1974) by Timothy R — 18 Jun 2008
So very long! But delightfully compelling for the moments I wasn't falling asleep. Since this movie seems designed to toy with or smash traditional narrative expectations, it's important to just sit back and let it happen.
The girls are so different from regular adult women that it's mesmerizing to watch them be childish in a non-childish world. A fascinating but subtle excape from reality and realism.
