Review of Céline and Julie Go Boating (1974) by Dan C — 11 Apr 2008
What a great film. I was transfixed for the entire 3 hours! I don't think I've ever seen the story-within-a-story motif done as interestingly as this. It almost seems like a gentle parody of a lot of different styles.
I'll bet David Lynch paid close attention to this movie - you can see its influence on Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire.
